Sleepless in the hell

Illustrated by Melvy Lie

This illustration based on feeling. I am not sure what people think. But this is my point of view. Everyone has sin.. And sin is bad. Basically, if you have a religion or believe you can understand this.

This is an illustration of a girl who sleeping nicely with her innocence feeling but in reality under unconscious of herself lot things happen. And it is burning.

No one actually know what they are doing or have done. But they are regret after know they are did bad. But sometimes people just do bad things without really think or feel about other people feeling. They just not really care.

This illustration is an expression of that. People just do stuff with they are purpose or not. But there are sin.

Melvy new Friend..

This Illustration comes with a story of a little girl who feeling lonely and miss arable. But She still try her best to move forward for her own future. She is looking for happiness and miracle in her life.

Her character is really easy going, humble and cheerful. She always smile and laugh. She has lots of friends who are care about her. They always be there for her. Her parents was past away when she was 10. And now, she is 17 stayed with her aunt.

I drew this from a photo of a small little girl and make it as an illustration. The reason I pick this photo was because I can she how is her feeling without knowing her story background. But I can feel her story. The lines in her faces and body is to present she has something in the past that she felt insecure. She can't walk out from that gate, basically she always hide everything inside her heart. But her hair is presenting her own freedom to bring herself to the world. And she is still trying her best to be herself.

- Semi Permanent -

I was surprised with Ashley Gilbertson talked. I am a person who love history but never read any newspaper or watch news. Once he came up to the stage, I thought he will describe his photos same as other designers. But his one was so different. It was real, and anyone can have they own opinion to think about his work. I love he describe his work, by each photo has a story or maybe more. He can remember and describe really detail to each stories, with their names, families, places and everything. Because he is beside the photo.

His presentation with all with the anger and emotions but I can see how sad his eyes to see all the photos that he looked at, but he was there when the tragedy happened. There are no words that I can describe about him. But, I love the way he present his photos as journalist, his photos are not an art work or design. But they are history by His Story that are reality.

ps. Check his website and have a look his photos and read his journal to each one. And then you can have your opinion.
